Julia Memmo ’22 “Radium Girls” was announced by the Domino Club to be the Fall Play for the 2021-2022 school year. Based on a true story, the play follows a group of female workers whose jobs are painting the dials of clocks in a factory. After unsanitary working conditions involving the consumption of radium, many of the lead characters become sick and file a lawsuit. Due to remaining COVID protocols, the play will adapt to fit the restrictions and as a result, it will look different than a typical performance. Sarah Memmo ‘24 Singing in chapel is back for the 2021-2022 school year, after the elimination of certain COVID-19 regulations. Community members are adapting to this change, since last year only solo artists were permitted to perform. At the beginning of last school year, stricter restrictions prohibited group singing. Rachel Letts ’22 Andy Li ‘22 is September’s Artist of the Month for his ongoing work in the practice of 2D Design. Li explains that his artistic interests root to his childhood as he has “been drawing ever since I was a kid. To me, it’s therapeutic. It’s one of the rare times that I can sit down and do something without distraction.” By following the work of Japanese architect Tadao Ando, Li was inspired to begin his own artistic journey. Alex Gobran ’23 Caroline Sewell ’23 Underage drinking at the shore seemed in the minds of many to have been allowed to skyrocket this past summer, thanks to a novel New Jersey alcohol directive that enabled teens at the Jersey shore to experience more laxed patrolling from police officers. Ashley Kim ’23 This month, EA held its annual Chapel service to memorialize the 20th anniversary of the devastating attacks of September 11th, 2001. Aaron Tang ‘24 COVID-19 vaccines are currently available for EA seniors and juniors and will soon be available to students ages 12 and up on campus. As of now, EA is not planning to require vaccines for the 2021-2022 school year. As of May 2nd, 58% of the seniors are entirely vaccinated or currently in the vaccination process, according to the EA Health Services department.
