Upper School sings Gospels in Chapel

Middle School history teacher Larry Henderson led a gospel service in Upper School Chapel this morning.

“When I was growing up, church was always a time for praise and rejoicing, so we go into church on Sunday morning and whatever trouble we have in our lives, we leave them behind because we would have come out of the service better than when we walked in,” Henderson told the student body, “And that’s why we have Chapel here as well. You want to walk into Chapel and whatever problem you have, regardless of what you believe, you want to walk out feeling better.”

Henderson with freshmen singers Emma Humann ’19, Jake Viscusi ’19, Alex Oliva ’19, Jack Franklin ’19, and Elom Vedomey ’19  split the Upper School into three vocal parts. The students along with the faculty proceeded to fill the chapel with song.

Upper School English teacher Douglas Parsons, Concert Band and Jazz Band conductor Ryan Dankanich, and Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Ensemble conductor James Finegan played the accompaniment on drums, saxophone, and electric guitar respectively.

This gospel service was a rejuvenating start to the second half of the first semester.

Pictures and videos of the service can be found below.
