Wilson Smerconish ’16: Joe Shanahan, Director of Campus Security, released a statement to faculty this past week regarding local police activity. The Newtown Square Police Department released information regarding “vehicle break-ins that have been occurring recently in Newtown Twp. as well as surrounding jurisdictions.” Police have identified the suspect’s vehicle as a 2011 Honda Odyssey, possibly grey in color with PA Registration of JLW7427. In response to these break ins, campus security will be increasing its presence in the parking lots. If any suspicious vehicle or person is seen on campus, immediately call 911 and/or campus security at 610-656-5473. Shanahan recommends to “Be aware of your surroundings. Always close your windows and lock your car…Do not leave valuables in open view inside your vehicle. Lock them in your trunk.”
