During Veteran’s Day Chapel on November 11th, 2015, Edward H. Vick ’62, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at EA, first opened up the service by having three-quarters of the student body stand up. Vick explained that in 1941, about three-quarters of the school would have served in the armed forces. He then proceeded to state that serving your country “is being a part of something bigger than yourself.”
Vick addressed the 1% of the nation–not the 1% that controls the lion’s share of wealth in our nation but the 1% that continues to serve our country today.
“Today is the day to thank a veteran for picking up the check,” encouraged Vick.
