Typically, at Episcopal it is the seniors who take on leadership roles, especially on the playing field as team captains. Yet this is not the case for the golf team as Alex Dupre and Sean Fahey, both V Form, are the captains for the next two seasons.

“It’s a great honor to be captains this and next year,” said Dupre. The co-captains are friends that have enjoyed playing together for many years, and now hope to lead their team to many victories.

The V Form captains have not taken their leadership roles lightly, and are stepping up to the plate.  According to Fahey, the two worked on their game this summer through workouts and tournaments. Due to their off-season efforts, they control the top positions on the team. “They are clearly the top two dominate forces on our squad,” said Drew DeBacco ’14.  This year Dupre and Fahey look to excel not only on Episcopal’s team, but in the entire Inter-Ac as well. Both Fahey and boy’s golf coach Doug Borgerson think that the two captains have set an attainable goal of placing at the top of the Inter-Ac as well as beating Haverford on EA-Haverford day. Participating in EA/Haverford day will be a first for Episcopal’s golf team, as the shift from a spring to a fall season means that this year’s golf program reaches the entire league.

Due the lack of an age gap, Dupre noted that, “we are one big family,” a premise of the team that resonates from the hallways to the golf course.

Matt Robinson ‘14 said, “They are closer in age to us so we know them a bit better.  We have a better rapport with them and they are less intimidating than being a freshman with senior captains.”
