Amanda Paolino ’15: Froyo seems all the craze these days as the seemingly simple frozen treat has begun to take over the Main Line. Everywhere you turn there is a new frozen yogurt place announcing its opening, with enticing names such as So Fun!, Kiwi, Red Mango and Whirled Peace. It was only a matter of time before EA’s own campus fell into the inevitable fate of the froyo frenzy.

Episcopal is now serving an array of flavors of frozen yogurt each day in a small freezer located near the entrance of the cafeteria. John Familetti, Director of Food Services at EA, noted that, “It was Red Mango in Wayne who originally reached out to us, telling us that they already sell their yogurt to many other schools in the area.”

Now Red Mango delivers to campus twice each week, with our cafeteria selling roughly 500 serving per week.

“In the beginning Red Mango would pick the flavors, but now as we see more of what students prefer we order mostly the vanilla with chocolate chips and the vanilla and chocolate swirl; however, each time Red Mango also picks the third flavor by what is popular at their store in Wayne at the time,” explained Familetti.

Although not everyone is keen on this new trend, it certainly seems that many on campus are enjoying the newfound sweetness as a regular part of their day. After a poll of a number of high school students was taken, the following results were found to validate Familetti’s beliefs on the favorite froyo flavors found in the cafeteria:
