Haverford Football
The Haverford School football team currently holds a 7-0 record, with an OT win of 41-40 over their first League competitor, Penn Charter. While senior quarterback Kevin Carter is out for the rest of the Fords season after tearing his ACL, the school has rallied against this potential challenge. Back-up quarterback Tommy Toal, Haverford ‘17, has stepped up and shown that Haverford football is still a force to be reckoned with, playing off other start teammates Wide-Reciver Dox Aitken, ‘16, Micah Sims, ‘16, and Conner Mosebrook, ‘17.
Haverford Water Polo
The Fords water polo team currently holds a season record of 8-9, with league victories over Germantown Academy twice (16-3 and 13-8), and a victory over Penn Charter at the first of two matches, followed by a tough loss to the same team later on. The team is lead by senior members Harrison White, Reed Haabestad, Dave Mitchell, Ken Fitzpatrick, and Alex Sanfilippo.
Haverford Golf
With a record of 3-3-1, Haverford Golf is teeing up to take on the rest of their season. In League competition, Haverford has placed 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, and 1st. Senior members Thomas Gravina, ‘16, and Max Siegfried, ‘16 – who holds all Inter-ac titles – lead the Fords team. Matches against Episcopal have all been close, and competition should be fierce come EA/Haverford Day.
Haverford Cross Country
Starting out strong, Haverford Cross Country current season record is 3-1 as of October 25th, with the loss coming from the recent Haverford-Episcopal meet, with a final score of 34-23. Lead in part by top runner Charles Scales, ‘16, the Fords seek to race towards victory.
Haverford Soccer
As of October 25th, Haverford soccer holds a strong record of 13-3. Conor Bradley, ‘16, Shane Bradley, ‘16, and Connor Gregory, ‘16, who play center mid, center back, and forward, respectively, are just three of the players which make Fords soccer a formidable foe. The team currently holds the #4 ranking in the country, and holds the top ranking in the state.
AIS Field Hockey
Irwins Field Hockey team is strong this year, with league victories over Germantown Academy, Baldwin, and Penn Charter. With senior leadership from captains Kendall Henderson, ‘16, and Morgan Smith, ‘16, along with powerhouse player Julianna Tornetta, ‘17, Irwin seeks revenge on Episcopal after their 5-3 loss.
AIS tennis
After finishing 4th overall in the Inter-ac tournament, and a tough 2-5 loss to Episcopal earlier in the season, Agnes Irwin will be out for blood. The team is fairly new, after losing a number of their top players at the end of last year. Irwins team is captained by #1 singles player Camille Smukler, ‘16, and Sophie Gaddes, ‘16.
AIS soccer
Captained by Kristin Burnetta, ‘16, Emily Frayer, ‘16, and Claire Micheletti, ‘16, Agnes Irwin seeks to succeed against Episcopal on Agnes Irwin Day, after an earlier 0-1 season loss to Episcopal. As the season progresses and the two teams final face-off approaches, it will be interesting to see the final outcome.
AIS Cross Country
Agnes Irwin Cross Country is running towards victory, enjoying a strong season thus far. In September, Irwins beat Episcopal 22-37, and have triumphed in the majority of their meets thus far.
