What’s your favorite teaching memory?

“There’s some funny things, but they’re all good in different kinds of ways. It was this time of year, and we were at Merion, the other campus. My classroom was right next to the science office, and I had forgotten something. It was after lunch, so I said to the kids, ‘Just a minute, I have to get a paper.’ So I went and it took me up, what, two minutes? I come back, and not a soul is there, nobody, and I go, ‘oh whoa!’ and they all jump up and yell ‘Surprise!’ I didn’t even hear a word about it, and I didn’t even hear the kids get all their book bags because there wasn’t a book bag in sight, and I thought ‘that’s pretty good.’ Of course we laughed, and it was the end of that day. It was very funny.”
