Going to Saint Marc’s School has taught me so much about the power of communication. We speak different languages, but we are still able to communicate in different ways. We played soccer, created art, danced, played ‘Duck Duck Goose,’ and ended up really getting to know one another. The first time I went to Saint Marc’s School, there was a young girl named Michelda who was incredibly shy. I saw her again on this trip and she came right up to us and held our hands because she remembered some of us. I think it is so important that we keep this partnership between Episcopal and Saint Marc’s going not only because we are building a school there, but also because we are slowly starting to become less like strangers and more like neighbors and it is really amazing. – Maria Burke ’14
