Cross Country: The Agnes Irwin Cross Country team has had a strong season, featuring wins over Inter-Ac teams Springside, Baldwin, and Episcopal. The Owls are led by their varsity seven, including seniors Vivien Hastings, Christinia Wusinich, Kate Alden, and Justis Wright, juniors Lauren and Georgia Fortunado, and freshman Emily DiNubile. The Owls have beaten Episcopal by ten points in the dual meet against Episcopal on October 4th, but Episcopal placed third, two places higher than the Owls, in Delcos. Just two days later Agnes Irwin placed second at Inter Acs, only one point ahead of Episcopal’s third place finish.
Tennis: The Agnes Irwin tennis team has had a strong season, featuring a record of 10-2. One of their two losses was to the Inter-Ac Champion Episcopal Academy, in which the Owls fell two games to five. The two games that the Owls won came in the singles division, while Episcopal swept the doubles matches.
Field Hockey: Agnes Irwin’s field hockey team got off to a strong start, with wins over Westtown and Delco Christian before falling to teams within the Inter-Ac league. In the October 13th game against Episcopal, the Owls fell to the Churchwomen in a close 1-0 game on Agnes Irwin’s home field. Playing on turf for Episcopal/Agnes Irwin day may shake up the game, as the Owls play on grass at home while the Churchwomen have experience on the turf.
Soccer: The Agnes Irwin soccer team has had an season, featuring losses to Inter-Ac teams such as Germantown Academy, Notre Dame, Baldwin, and Episcopal. In the October 13th game against Episcopal, the Owls lost 4-0, and were shut out by Episcopal goalie Ali Singly.
