Collin Wright ’12

Dear Episcopal Academy Community,

The Vestry has been working very hard since last year, and through the summer, to be prepared for the Chapel services in the 2011-2012 school year. We are excited about the new theme, a quote from Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” The Vestry hopes that this theme will promote faith-based speeches and discussions about what drives us to make a difference. Whether in the classroom, community or the world, we all can be an example for what we believe in. We hope that this year’s chapels will inspire our community to follow their heart and faith, and do what they feel can have a positive impact in the community and world. In our chapel services this year, we will have our own individual faith deepened by experiencing that of others. Whether it is an outside of school speaker, a senior’s farewell speech, an alumnus’ recollection of their days at the Academy, or a parent’s interesting experience, we are excited to hear heartfelt, faith-based perspectives on how to exemplify change. We hope to give students and faculty a platform on which they can share their faith with this great community. So as this school year begins, let us all think: How can I be the change that I wish to see in the world? And let us have open minds and hearts, in order to respect the beliefs of others and our own.

With gratitude and anticipation for this year,

The Vestry
